Born Stefano Perrone, Jr., into a family full of music and culture, this Italian American had no trouble honing his tremendous skills. Stefano began as an artist in all trades, developing as a painter, illustrator and graphic designer before truly pursuing his music. In high school, Stefano's voice really became something formidable. His unmistakable baritone range, rich vibrato and timbre landed him leading roles in local musical productions and spots in State choirs. Before graduating high school Stefano and his sisters put together a veritable "coming of age" concert, that introduced him as an new artist and performer for friends, family, and local musicians. This program was so well-received, that Stefano caught the attention of local musician and once Spin Doctor's member, Anthony Krizan. After also seeing Stefano's phenomenal opening performance at his hometown's July 4th parade in 1999, Anthony invited Stefano to his studio to record original music. This finally brings us to Stefano's recent demo entitled Paradigm. The tracks included showcase his versatility as an artist and singer. The track, In God's Shadow, has a real pop kick and strong deliberate vocal whereas You're The Best Thing is straight and raw R&B. The melancholy love-ballad, Reason to Believe, displays Stefano's ability to emotionally respond to songs. Although three tracks were written and produced by Krizan, the fourth is Stefano's angry and alternative sounding plea in Cardboard Box, which he and his sister Cristina co-wrote with Krizan. The track also features Stefano's other sister Iolanda's fierce strings. Most recently, he had the opportunity to once again showcase his performance skills. In November 2001, Stefano was invited to open four performances of the New York City based Big Apple Circus with the Star-Spangled Banner. Mayor-elect, Mike Bloomberg, attended one of the two performances held in honor of the Firefighters and NYPD who showed great bravery following the events of September 11th. Stefano is now collaborating with a new creative talent, GianCarlo Cirillo. The two wrote the newly recorded Push together and are now working fervently on a slew of new tracks, both English and Italian. All in all, Stefano is possibly the next fresh voice and face of the next musical evolution. Combine his striking Mediterranean looks with the powerhouse that is his classically trained voice, Stefano will undoubtedly succeed in his musical endeavors. Listen closely and be blown away. |
